Getting Fit and Healthy
How do you define fit and healthy? All to often the skin deep
notions are used: Men with large, well-defined
muscles and skinny, well-endowed women with toned legs and tight rear ends. Theres much more to being fit and healthy,
though. In the eyes of The Department of Argiculture, The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and many organizations in
the health and medical industry, being fit and healthy is composed of:
- Three key areas of exercise:
- Enduranceexercising, like running, for longer periods of time
- Strengthlifting more weight with muscles throughout your body
- FlexibilityIncreased range of motion for all the joints and muscles in your body
- Proper Diet

Recruit Results
What follows are a few examples of what our customers achieve. We don't guarantee these results.
You have to work for these results.
When Dan started boot camp, it took him just over ten minutes to run one mile. He can
now run a mile in five minutes.
Margaret started with about 26% body fat and couldn't run a full mile without some walking. Her
body fat is now 18%, which places her in the "athletic" range for body fat. Margaret also enjoys
pushing her fellow recruits to run the entire mile with her.

The Boot Camp
Basic Training
Your FT Boot Camp training starts with a fitness evaluation. This includes a short regimen of exercises to determine your
relative level of fitness. You'll also have your measurements
taken, body composition analysis measured and a "before" photo taken.
The importance of the data collected really comes into play at the end of your training session. At that point,
your measurements and body composition data are collected again. The before and after data will typically show you, given
your level of commitment, marked improvement.

Where are we going to go hiking this coming weekend? Email your requests to recruiting@fitnesstroops.com (or me, Greg, if you have my email...sorry spammers).
Here's where we've been in the last few months:
Quick Note:
We took another nice hike to the top of Rocky Peak this weekend. 1,100 kcal for me, 800-ish for Annette. I've got lots of good stuff to post in a follow-up. Namely, photos that are GPS-pinpointed and detailed stats for hike from my GPS.

Who is Fitness Troops
We're the brainchild of Annette & Greg Vogel. After years in the corporate world, we've decided
to make the switch to the purely healthy activities of fitness and diet.
One of our first endeavors was defining our principles. Having a set of
principles to guide us is very important. Principles help us give our customers the best service
possible. Principles help us end each day knowing we're doing good by all those that our business touches.
We also decided very early that we couldn't hold on to our principles if we were beholden to the business
practices of others. So we specifically avoided taking advantage of the numerous opportunities to
purchase a boot camp franchise. The flexibility to change our business as quickly as possible to
meet our customers needs is highly valued by us.
